Alexander Wang’s freshman season with Balenciaga did not disappoint. It was classic and structured. I love how the mirror was placed so you could see the front and back of each outfit simultaneously and how everything blended together – even the “marble” runway with the clothing. Considering his youth – Alexander Wang did a good job staying true to the line. I also absolutely adored that marble fur chubby jacket.

Glamour at the Oscars was back with a vengeance in these beautiful ballgowns on Jennifer Lawrence (Dior Haute Couture) and Amy Adams (Oscar de la Renta). Absolutely loved the colours on both and the conveyance of lightness and air.

I like how simply changing the width of the stripes on this shift dress from Tibi makes it look like it darkens at the middle and lightens at the top and bottom. Fun little optical illusion for $398.

DSquared really did 1940′s vintage glamour mixed with some modern fun and edge very well. Loved the feather bottom art deco dress and the mix of light pastel shades with rougher tougher coats.

Some things just can’t be replicated. That is true of Anne Hathaway’s silver dress that looks like it is made up of small square mirrors. The detailing around the neckline is so intricate and pretty and I love how the fabric underneath is a skin tone shade. Below are some alternate options but nothing measures up.

I just recently noticed that some of my beloved tights are starting to show some signs of wear. Perhaps I didn’t take care of them well enough. Needless to say I have been seeing less and less nice black or gray-tone patterned tights. This buckle pair from Wolford are so whimsical and fun I can’t help but want them even though it goes against my principals to pay much more than $20 for a pair of tights that can so easily be ruined. This pair goes for $65.
